Every summer, Damascus hosts its flagship camp experience, welcoming over 6,500 youth on-site to encounter the unique spirit of Damascus and the life-changing power of the Catholic Church.
Objective
Daily prayer is a habit of the saints. The goal of the Jesus Journal is to create a beautifully designed product that brings lasting change to the lives of our customers, partnering in their path of sanctity. This is not a one-and-done resource. Rather, this is a year-long devotional that facilitates the habits of daily prayer – offering consistency, inspiration, and spiritual depth.
Challenge
The challenge each year is staying relevant to the ever-evolving interests of today’s youth. What captures their attention can shift by the month, and our goal is to create a product that not only delivers meaningful content, but is also something they never want to put down. From visual beauty to creative innovation, every element must be designed to engage a fast-moving and trend-sensitive generation to keep them coming back for more.
Result
The result is a yearly devotional book that captures the hearts and minds of today’s youth. When campers arrive at Damascus, they dive into the resource; flipping through its pages, embracing the content, and often completing the year-long challenges it presents. Every individual receives a copy to take home, making it not only a powerful prayer tool, but also a lasting extension of our mission—bringing the spirit of Damascus into homes across the country.
